Camp Regis-Applejack occupies its own protected cove with a ¾-mile shoreline on one of the most treasured lakes in the pristine Adirondack Park, Upper St. Regis Lake. Access to wilderness canoeing and hiking are at the camp's doorstep. Within the 6-million-acre park are forty-six high peaks and thousands of lakes, streams, and rivers. Regis-Applejack is 2½ hours south of Montreal and 5 hours from New York City.
The architecture is distinctly Adirondack, a fact we feel does much to enhance the romance of camping and the sense of feeling at home. Surrounding its own cove with a ¾-mile shoreline, the Regis-Applejack campus boasts a variety of well-kept buildings which were formerly a private estate. Girls' cabins are near the boating area and boys' cabins are near the swimming dock; most afford views of the lake.
The Boys' and Girls' sections are on the same campus. Meals and many activities are routinely shared, creating a comfortable climate and avoiding the often forced situations where boys and girls meet only on formal occasions. Both sexes are encouraged to try all the activities at camp without preconceptions about what they "should" enjoy.
Approximately 12 - 18 campers share a cabin consisting of 3 or 4 bedrooms, all with inside bathrooms and rustic recreation rooms with fireplaces (great for evening get-togethers & s'mores!). Resident counselors - 2 to 4 per cabin - have separate bedrooms within the building. The Regis-Applejack dining hall features a central fireplace, family-style dining and offers a well-balanced menu consisting of a variety of protein dishes as well as frequent fresh fruits and vegetables.
